Senior Environmental Specialist

Mott MacDonald's Environment Division has an exciting opportunity for a senior environmental
specialist with specialist knowledge of Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and environmental
planning to join our operations in Leeds or Altrincham.
You will lead EIA project teams to deliver a broad range of environmental projects and advisory
services. The teams will consist of a mixture of planners, landscape architects, ecologists,
archaeologists, noise, air quality and water resource specialists.
Your typical responsibilities will include:
- Supporting our environment teams to expand the capacity of the Mott MacDonald Group's EIA capabilities
- Undertaking business development and proposal writing to win EIA projects, either as stand-alone
services or as part of integrated services offered by the Group
- Supporting the delivery of our annual obligations under the IEMA EIA Kite Mark
- Mentoring and training other staff in EIA best practice, and in environmental management in general
- Undertaking assessments and the analysis and development of environmental improvement schemes
- Leading the co-ordination the production of EIAs
- Responsible for the financial management of EIA projects
Candidate specification
- BSc and MSc in a relevant environmental subject (professional Chartership strongly preferred)
- Extensive professional experience within EIA (knowledge of environmental auditing and environmental management
systems would be useful)
- Detailed knowledge of EIA processes and international funding agency requirements
- Excellent knowledge of EU and UK legislation of relevance to environmental planning and environmental management
- Full clean driving licence
- Flexible in your approach to work, able to spend time away from your home base as required (potentially
overseas as well as UK-wide).
